چکیده :
Background and Aim: Lung cancer is one of the most lethal types of cancer, affecting a large number of patients annually. Due to its biological and genetic complexities, in-depth studies are required to identify the genetic and molecular factors associated with it. Research has shown that various genes play a crucial role in the initiation and progression of lung cancer. Mutations and alterations in the expression of these genes can lead to changes in vital signaling pathways such as cell proliferation and apoptosis. The aim of this study was to identify differentially expressed genes impacting lung cancer progression using bioinformatics and RNA-Seq transcriptomic data analysis. Methods: In this study, transcriptomic data from 3 lung cancer patients and 3 healthy individuals were collected from the NCBI-SRA database and initially assessed for quality. Low-quality data were removed, and high-quality data were analyzed using standard RNA-Seq protocols. Finally, the genes and molecular pathways involved in the pathogenesis related to lung cancer were identified and analyzed. Results: In this study, considering the p-value and LogFoldChange factors, 3,141 genes with the most significant expression changes were identified. Among these, key genes such as WNT5A, WNT7A, EGFR, ASPM, SHH, and HIF1A were highlighted. Further analyses revealed that these genes are involved in important signaling pathways, including SHH and WNT, which regulate crucial processes such as apoptosis and cell proliferation. These pathways play a significant role in the growth and survival of cancer cells and may serve as potential therapeutic targets in lung cancer. Conclusion: The findings of this study highlight the critical role of key genes and signaling pathways in the progression of lung cancer. The study emphasizes that disruption in these genetic and molecular mechanisms can be significantly associated with the development and advancement of lung cancer. These results underscore the importance of a deeper understanding of these genetic factors and their use in developing targeted therapeutic strategies to combat lung cancer.
